Equine Care & Treatment: Patient Spotlight

Day 1 - Horse stepped on himself in the horse trailer, despite wearing standing wraps and bell boots. Impressive! Deep cut present on inside coronary band. Profuse bleeding. Unable to stitch due to location. Initial treatment: Compression bandage to stop bleeding, antibotics and anti-inflammatories
	Day 7 - Owner complains wound would re-open despite bandaging. No signs of infection present. Treatment plan: Casting of foot and pastern to immobilize the area and speed healing. Day 12 - Owner removed cast prematurely due to pressure sore developing
Day 30 - Very slow healing
	Day 60 - Previous picture looks very similiar although taken one month apart
