DRUG THERAPY
-
Has your horse been diagnosed withnavicular disease, pedal, osteitis, ring bone, kissing spine, or advanced arthritis?
-
Tildren and Osphos, commonly known bisphosphonates, are the only drugs available to treat bone pain associated with these diseases. Previously, these drugs were only available in Europe, and only since 2014 have they been approved for use in the US.

KINESIOLOGY
-
Kinesio Taping is no longer just for human athletes, as now it is a successful component of the rehab process !When it comes to supporting the equine in rehab, every advantage counts, no matter how small. Proper taping helps muscles and joints to maintain functionality and comfort during the process, and can assist by reducing swelling or edema, shortening the healing time, reducing fatigue, and encouraging full range of motion. This, in turn, aids in recovery by normalizing muscle tone. It’s drug-free, easy to apply, and non-invasive.

LAMENESS LOCATOR
-
If your horse’s lameness has been difficult to diagnose or resistant to treatment, our new, cutting edge technology tool can pinpoint the problem. Using a computerized tool called the Lameness Locator, we can diagnose and monitor even the smallest amount of lameness. The Lameness Locator consists of sensors that are placed on the poll, front leg and the hip. When the horse is trotted out it collects the data and your 3H veterinarian interprets the results. This is a great diagnostic tool to truly be able to chart progress. The decision to use the Lameness Locator is typically brought on by the inability to diagnosis due to multiple limb involvement, lack of improvement through joint blocks, or when lameness is only noticed by the rider.

PODIATRY
-
Our vets strive to work in conjunction with your farrier, because podiatry issues are best tackled via this team approach. We’ve all heard the expression, “No foot, no horse”, and properly tended feet are an imperative to avoid such a dilemma. Additionally, digital radiographs may help by offering a more thorough evaluation in order to achieve correct balance.

REGENERATIVE LASER THERAPY
-
Laser therapy does functionally heal previously damaged tissues. It is an excellent anti-inflammatory strategy without the use of drugs. It is safe, non invasive, pain-free, consistently effective and without side effects. A few treatments per week for 4-8 weeks will deliver very improved outcomes.

SHOCKWAVE THERAPY
-
Reducing pain and inflammation will be critical to the healing process. Shockwave therapy accelerates tissue repair and cell growth by stimulating the release of the necessary growth factors for healing. One treatment takes less than 15 minutes, and normally we treat three times, spacing the intervals at 7-10 days.
